Factory.ai is model/interface agnostic with extensible tooling. SaaS Factory has no equivalent extensibility layer — agents are hardcoded to GitHub + Anthropic + Vercel + Neon + Stripe. As the ecosystem standardizes on MCP, the inability to extend agents with customer-specific tools (e.g., their internal APIs, Linear, Notion, Datadog, Sentry) creates a significant competitive gap. The agent-tools.ts file shows 41KB of hardcoded tool implementations — an MCP bridge would let external tools plug in without touching this file.
