AI Credit & Cost Intelligence: Full Visibility Into Agent Spend

AI Credit & Cost Intelligence: Full Visibility Into Agent Spend

SaaS Factory now includes a dedicated Cost Intelligence Dashboard that gives you complete visibility into how AI credits and token budget are being consumed across your agents and products. Whether you're a solo founder keeping an eye on your Free-tier credits or a finance team managing enterprise spend, this feature puts the numbers front and centre.

The Problem It Solves

SaaS Factory runs 21+ specialised AI agents around the clock. Each agent consumes tokens. Tokens cost money. Previously:

  • There was no UI showing which agents were driving the most spend.
  • There were no budget alerts — you could burn through credits without warning.
  • There were no per-project spend limits.
  • The users.credits quota (shown on the pricing page) was disconnected from actual token-level consumption tracked by the observability router.

This release fixes all of that.

Dashboard Features

Burn Rate by Agent Type

See a ranked breakdown of credit consumption by agent role — architect, researcher, engineer, marketer, compliance officer, and more. Use this to understand which agent types are your biggest cost centres and whether the value they deliver justifies the spend.

Burn Rate by Product

If you're running multiple products on SaaS Factory, each product's AI spend is tracked and displayed separately. Quickly identify which product is burning the most credits and whether that aligns with its priority in your portfolio.

Projected Monthly Spend

Based on recent usage patterns, the dashboard projects your total credit consumption for the current billing month. The forecast updates continuously as agents run, giving you an early warning if spend is trending above your plan limits.

Budget Threshold Alerts

Set per-project or account-level budget thresholds. When consumption reaches a configured percentage of your limit, the platform sends an alert so you can intervene before hitting a hard cap.

Example: Set a threshold at 80% of your monthly Pro credit allowance (2,000 credits). You'll receive an alert when consumption hits 1,600 credits, giving you time to adjust agent scheduling or upgrade your plan.

Agent Cost Recommendations

The platform analyses the cost-to-value ratio of each running agent. When an agent is consuming a disproportionate share of credits relative to its output (e.g. a marketing research agent running frequently in a pre-launch product), the dashboard surfaces a recommendation to pause, throttle, or disable it.

How Costs Are Calculated

Token usage is recorded per agent job in the database (tokenUsage field). The observability router converts token counts to estimated dollar costs using the following rates:

Token TypeRate
Input tokens$3.00 / 1M tokens
Output tokens$15.00 / 1M tokens

These rates are used to calculate both historical spend displayed on the dashboard and the forward-looking monthly forecast.

Note: These are estimated costs based on hardcoded rates. Actual infrastructure costs may vary depending on the underlying model and provider.

Credits vs. Token Usage

SaaS Factory plans are denominated in AI agent credits:

PlanCredits / Month
Free50
Pro2,000

The Cost Intelligence Dashboard connects your credit quota to the underlying token-level data, so you can see both dimensions side by side:

  • Credits remaining — How much of your plan allowance is left.
  • Token burn — The raw token consumption and its estimated cost equivalent.

This is especially useful for Pro and enterprise users who want to understand the relationship between their plan limits and actual model usage.

Competitive Context

Tools like Devin charge per session and show cost breakdowns at the session level. SaaS Factory goes further: costs are broken down by agent type, product, and time horizon (historical + forecasted), and the system proactively recommends ways to reduce spend — not just report it.

For enterprise sales cycles where finance teams require cost visibility and budget controls as a procurement condition, this dashboard directly addresses those requirements.

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to Observability → Cost Intelligence in your project dashboard.
  2. Review the burn rate charts by agent type and product.
  3. Check the projected monthly spend against your plan limit.
  4. Set a budget threshold alert via Settings → Budget Controls.
  5. Review any agent cost recommendations and decide whether to act on them.
