Settings Notifications Tab — No More Dead Ends
Settings Notifications Tab — No More Dead Ends
Version: 1.0.30 Category: UI/UX · Usability
Overview
Prior to v1.0.30, the Notifications tab inside the global Settings page (/dashboard/settings) was effectively a dead end. It displayed a card explaining that notification settings live at the per-project level, then offered a link back to the dashboard — leaving users to hunt through multiple levels of navigation to configure something as routine as a notification channel.
This release replaces that experience entirely.
What the Notifications Tab Does Now
The Notifications tab now serves as a central hub for notification configuration across all of your products. Instead of a redirect message, you'll see:
| Product Name | Channels | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Your Product A | 3 channels | Configure → |
| Your Product B | 1 channel | Configure → |
| Your Product C | 0 channels | Configure → |
Each row in the list shows:
- Product Name — the product this configuration applies to.
- Channel Count — how many notification channels are currently active for that product.
- Configure link — a direct, one-click link to that product's notification settings.
Why This Matters
Notification configuration is a frequent, operationally important task — setting up alert channels for deployments, errors, billing events, or customer activity. Burying it behind a multi-step redirect added unnecessary friction.
With this change, the path from intent to action is:
- Open Settings → Notifications
- Click Configure → next to the relevant product
Two steps instead of seven.
Navigation
