Putting Members in Control — GDPR Consent Management & Data Export
Release v1.0.53
Today we're shipping a foundational change to how personal data is handled on the platform: explicit consent management for all data-sensitive features, paired with a full personal data export for every member.
Why this matters
Our platform integrates deeply with health wearables, recovery trackers, and AI coaching engines — and surfaces member data to coaches and gym owners. That depth of integration is what makes the experience valuable, but it also means personal data flows through a lot of systems. Under GDPR, members have the right to know exactly what they've consented to, to withdraw that consent at any time, and to access all data held about them.
This release makes those rights a first-class part of the product.
What's new
Explicit opt-in for every data-sensitive feature
Three feature categories now sit behind explicit member consent:
- Health data integrations — wearables, recovery monitoring, and any biometric data collection.
- AI coaching — personalised programming, readiness-based scaling, and goal-driven recommendations.
- Coach data visibility — the health, progress, and performance dashboards your coaches use.
No data moves into any of these systems without a clear, affirmative action from the member.
Timestamped, versioned consent records
Every consent is stored with the exact time it was given and the version of the consent text that was accepted. This isn't just a compliance checkbox — it means if we ever update consent language, we know exactly which members accepted which version, and we can prompt for re-consent where required.
Consent management in the member account
Members can open Account → Privacy & Consents at any time to:
- See every active consent, when it was given, and what it covers.
- Withdraw any individual consent immediately, with real-time effect across all connected systems.
No support ticket required. No waiting period.
Full personal data export
Members can now download a complete export of all personal data held on the platform — training history, health metrics, consent records, and account information — directly from the same Privacy & Consents screen.
What this means for gym owners and coaches
Coach dashboards and business intelligence tools continue to work exactly as before for members who have opted in. The only change you'll notice is that member data won't appear in coach views for members who haven't yet consented or who have withdrawn consent.
For compliance purposes, consent records are accessible in the admin panel, giving you a clear audit trail if you ever need it.
A note on existing members
Existing consent flows are being migrated to the new timestamped and versioned format. Members who have already connected wearables or enabled AI coaching will have their consent records preserved — they won't be asked to re-consent unless the consent language changes.
This release is the foundation for the data rights tooling we'll be building on in future releases, including in-app deletion requests and granular data retention controls. If you have questions about GDPR compliance for your gym, reach out to your account manager.
