Random WOD Generator

Random WOD Generator

The Random WOD Generator lets members and coaches create a complete, ready-to-perform workout on demand. Every generated session is constrained by real-world variables — equipment availability, time, and training intent — so results are always practical and relevant.

Overview

Rather than browsing a library or waiting for a coach to program a session, any member or coach can spin up a WOD in seconds. The generator produces a full session complete with scaling tiers, making it suitable for athletes of any level.

How to Generate a WOD

  1. Navigate to Workouts → Generate WOD (or use the quick-action button on the dashboard).
  2. Configure the three generation constraints:
    • Available Equipment — Select the equipment you have access to (e.g. barbell, dumbbells, pull-up rig, none/bodyweight only). The generator will only programme movements compatible with your selection.
    • Time Cap — Set the maximum duration for the workout (e.g. 10, 20, 30 minutes). The generator tailors rep schemes and movement volume to fit within the cap.
    • Dominant Stimulus — Choose the primary training intent for the session:
      • Aerobic — Sustained cardiovascular output
      • Strength — Loaded, lower-rep work
      • Mixed Modal — Combination of gymnastic, metabolic, and weightlifting elements
  3. Tap Generate to receive a complete session.

What You Receive

Each generated WOD includes:

  • Movement selection — Exercises chosen to match your equipment and stimulus.
  • Rep scheme / time structure — Sets, reps, rounds, or time domains sized to your time cap.
  • Scaling options — Multiple tiers (e.g. Rx, Scaled, Beginner) so every athlete can perform the same session at an appropriate intensity.

Saving a WOD

If you want to keep a generated WOD for later:

  1. Tap Save to Library on the results screen.
  2. The WOD is added to your Personal Library under Workouts → My Library.
  3. Saved WODs can be re-used, duplicated, or edited like any other session.

Sharing to the Community Feed

Coaches and members can publish a generated WOD directly to the gym's community feed:

  1. Tap Share to Feed on the results screen.
  2. Add an optional note or context before posting.
  3. The WOD appears in the community feed where other members can view it, log their results, and leave comments.

Note: Sharing a WOD to the feed does not automatically schedule it as a class. Use the Class Management tools to schedule a session for a specific time slot.

Tips

  • Use bodyweight only equipment when travelling or without access to a facility.
  • Combine a short time cap (10–15 min) with aerobic stimulus for a quick conditioning finisher.
  • Coaches can use the generator to quickly fill programming gaps or provide members with homework sessions.
  • Generated WODs saved to your library count toward your programming history and appear in your progress analytics.
