What's New in v1.0.11: Transaction Ledger & Categorisation
We've just shipped v1.0.11, and it introduces one of the most important features in the platform to date: the Transaction Ledger.
The Problem It Solves
Making Tax Digital doesn't just require landlords to submit figures to HMRC — it requires accurate figures. But when you're managing multiple properties, transactions can pile up quickly: rent payments, maintenance invoices, letting agent fees, insurance renewals. Keeping track of what's income, what's a deductible expense, and what category each item falls under is genuinely difficult.
Before this release, transactions imported from AgentOS went into your quarterly submission with limited opportunity to review or correct them. That's a risk no landlord should have to take.
What's in v1.0.11
A Full Transaction Ledger
Every rental income and allowable expense transaction pulled from your AgentOS landlord record is now displayed in a clear, chronological ledger. You can see exactly what has been imported, when it was recorded, and how much it is — before anything is sent to HMRC.
Review & Categorise Before You Submit
Each transaction must be assigned an HMRC-compliant category. The platform presents the full set of allowable income and expense categories — from rental income and lease premiums to repairs, finance costs, and professional fees. Uncategorised transactions are clearly flagged and will block submission until resolved, so nothing slips through unchecked.
Correct Errors In-Place
If something looks wrong — an incorrect amount, a misclassified transaction type, or a description that doesn't match your records — you can amend it directly in the ledger. Amended entries are marked so you always have a clear audit trail of what was changed and why.
Why Categorisation Matters for HMRC Compliance
Under MTD ITSA rules, landlords are required to report income and expenses using HMRC's defined property income categories. Submitting uncategorised or incorrectly categorised data can result in:
- Incorrect tax calculations — Expenses claimed under the wrong category may be disallowed, increasing your tax liability.
- HMRC enquiries — Inconsistent or implausible categorisation can trigger compliance checks.
- Rejected submissions — Structurally invalid submissions may be rejected outright by the HMRC MTD API.
The Transaction Ledger puts you in control of this process before a single figure is dispatched.
How to Get Started
- Navigate to the Transaction Ledger from your dashboard.
- Confirm your AgentOS integration is active — transactions are imported automatically from your connected landlord record.
- Work through any
Uncategorisedtransactions, assigning each one the appropriate HMRC income or expense category. - Amend any entries that look incorrect.
- When all transactions show a
CategorisedorAmendedstatus, proceed to Quarterly Submission.
Full details are in the Transaction Ledger & Categorisation documentation.
What's Coming Next
We're already working on features to make the categorisation workflow faster, including auto-categorisation based on your previous choices and the ability to split a single transaction across multiple categories. We'll share more as those features get closer to release.
In the meantime, v1.0.11 is live — give the ledger a look and let us know what you think.
