Global Search Now Works Across Your Entire Portfolio
Global Search Now Works Across Your Entire Portfolio
Release: v1.0.11
Severity: Critical Fix
With v1.0.11, global search in the command palette now returns results from every core entity in your Irish block management portfolio — not just system-level records.
The Problem
Before this release, the search bar and command palette were connected to a search router that only covered organisation members, pending invites, audit log entries, and user feedback. While these are useful for platform administration, they represent a tiny fraction of the data a property management agent works with daily.
If you typed "Maple Court" into the search bar, you got nothing. If you searched for "arrears", you got nothing. The feature appeared to work — the UI was fully wired up — but the results were empty because the router was never pointed at the right data.
This was a critical gap between what the platform is built to do and what search actually delivered.
What's Fixed
The searchRouter has been updated to query all core Irish block management domain entities. Here is what you can now find through global search:
Developments
Search by development name, address, or any reference code. Find Maple Court, Beechwood Estate, or any other development in your portfolio instantly.
Units
Look up individual units by number, block designation, or floor. Useful when responding to owner queries or assigning maintenance work.
Owners
Search by owner name, email address, or contact number. Quickly pull up an owner record without navigating through a development hierarchy.
Service Charge Demands
Search by demand reference, status, or keywords like "arrears" or "overdue". Surface outstanding demands without running a manual report.
Compliance Obligations
Find obligations by title, regulatory category, or proximity to their due date. Stay on top of your OMC's legal and statutory duties.
Maintenance Requests
Search open and closed maintenance requests by title, current status, or the contractor assigned to the job.
Contractors
Look up contractors by name, trade category, or registration number. Access contact details and job history from a single search.
Documents
Find uploaded documents by title, document type, or the development they are associated with.
How to Use Global Search
- Press the keyboard shortcut or click the search icon in the top navigation to open the command palette.
- Begin typing any name, reference, keyword, or number.
- Results will appear grouped by entity type.
- Select a result to navigate directly to that record.
Notes for Property Managers
- Search results are scoped to the organisations and developments you have access to — you will not see records from other agents' portfolios.
- Search is available from any page in the application.
- All eight domain entity types are searched simultaneously; there is no need to specify a category before searching.
This fix ensures that the command palette fulfils its intended role as the fastest way to navigate a complex, multi-development portfolio.
