Finding the Wear & Tear Guide Just Got Easier
Finding the Wear & Tear Guide Just Got Easier
Release v0.1.268 · Navigation update
We've moved the Wear & Tear Guide to a more logical home in the sidebar. Here's what changed and why it matters.
What moved?
The Wear & Tear Guide previously appeared in the Compliance & Analytics section of the sidebar — the same group as the Compliance dashboard and Analytics reports.
As of v0.1.268, it now lives in the Inspections group, alongside:
- Check-In reports
- Check-Out reports
- Inventory Templates
Why does this matter?
The Wear & Tear Guide is a reference library, not a monitoring or analytics tool. Agents reach for it in two specific task contexts:
- During a check-out inspection — to confirm what counts as fair wear and tear versus chargeable damage.
- While writing a deduction claim — to justify or calibrate the amount being deducted.
Both of those tasks happen in the Inspections workflow. Burying the guide under Compliance & Analytics meant agents had to interrupt their flow and hunt for it in an unexpected place.
Moving it to Inspections puts the guide exactly where you need it, when you need it.
Mobile quick-create shortcut
The mobile bottom-tab quick-create flow now includes a "View Wear & Tear Guide" shortcut that appears automatically when you are in a deduction context. You can pull up the guide without navigating away from the claim you're working on.
Nothing else has changed
- All existing bookmarks and deep links to the Wear & Tear Guide still work.
- The content of the guide itself is unchanged.
- No account settings or data are affected.
Feedback
If the new placement doesn't match your workflow, or if you'd like to see the Wear & Tear Guide surfaced somewhere else in the product, use the in-app feedback button or contact support.
