Blog: See Your Portfolio's Health at a Glance

See Your Portfolio's Health at a Glance

Release: v0.1.137 · UI/UX Improvement

Managing a portfolio of properties means keeping track of dozens of moving parts — active tenancies, deposit protection statuses, compliance obligations — all at the same time. Until now, the Properties dashboard gave you a clean grid of your properties, but each card was essentially a static label: address, type, beds, landlord. To find out which properties actually needed attention, you had to click into them one by one.

That changes with v0.1.137.

What's new

We've added Tenancy Health Indicators to every Property Card in the portfolio grid. A compact status row now sits at the bottom of each card, showing you three things at once:

  • Active tenancy count — a green dot tells you occupancy is live and healthy.
  • Compliance alerts — an amber triangle flags anything that needs your attention before it becomes a problem.
  • Deposit protection status — a red shield means a deposit is currently unprotected. No shield, no problem.

If a property has an issue, the card itself picks up a subtle red or amber border tint — the same visual language used elsewhere in the platform — so at-risk properties jump out of the grid immediately.

For agents who prefer the table view, we've also added a dedicated Health column with the same coloured status dots, making it easy to scan and sort across a large portfolio.

How it works

These indicators draw on data that was already being fetched — the properties.stats query that powers the aggregate StatsStrip above the grid. We're simply bringing that per-property signal down to where it's most useful: right on the card itself. No extra loading, no new API calls.

Why it matters

A deposit left unprotected, or a compliance issue left unchecked, can turn a routine tenancy end into a formal dispute. The goal of these indicators isn't to add noise — it's to make the absence of problems just as visible as the presence of them. A grid full of green dots is a genuinely reassuring thing to see.

Small UI improvements like this are part of how we build toward the platform's core promise: fair outcomes, built on evidence, without the manual chasing.
