Clearer Reminder Settings: Sections, Previews & Smarter Hints
Clearer Reminder Settings: Sections, Previews & Smarter Hints
Released in v0.1.271
The Settings page's Reminders tab has been redesigned to make it easier to understand, configure, and verify your reminder preferences — without needing to dig through documentation or send a test email just to see what a reminder looks like.
What was the problem?
The previous Reminders form was a plain list of fields with no visual structure. There was nothing to tell you:
- What a given reminder actually does — who gets it, when it fires, and why.
- How related reminders are connected — for example, the relationship between a deposit deadline reminder sent to a tenant and a follow-up sent to the landlord.
- What the outgoing email looks like — requiring a manual test send to verify content.
On top of that, important settings buried in the Integrations tab — particularly webhook URLs for PMS connections — were easy to miss because the tab gave no indication that anything needed attention.
What's new
Section headers and help text
Every reminder type now has a descriptive header and a short help text block explaining:
- The trigger (e.g. 7 days before the deposit deadline)
- The recipient (e.g. tenant, landlord, agent)
- The purpose of the reminder in the context of the tenancy lifecycle
This removes ambiguity when enabling or customising reminders for the first time.
Grouped card sections
Reminders are now organised into visually distinct card groups, for example:
- Deposit deadline reminders — notifications related to deposit return windows and deadlines
- Check-out reminders — notifications triggered around the scheduled end of a tenancy
Grouping makes it easy to find the reminder type you are looking for and understand how settings within a group interact.
Collapsible email preview
Each reminder card includes a 'What does this email look like?' toggle. Expanding it shows a representative preview of the email that will be sent, including the subject line and body layout.
This means you can review the content of a reminder before enabling it — no test sends required.
Integrations tab hint badge
If no Property Management System is connected to your account, the Integrations tab now displays a contextual badge prompting you to complete the setup. Settings such as webhook URLs are only meaningful once a PMS is connected, and the badge ensures they are not overlooked.
What hasn't changed
- Reminder scheduling, delivery logic, and email content are unchanged.
- No new reminder types have been added in this release.
- There are no API or database changes.
Where to find it
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Reminders to see the updated layout. The Integrations hint badge is visible at Dashboard → Settings → Integrations if no PMS connection is active.
