Member Spotlight & Coach Nomination System

Member Spotlight & Coach Nomination System

The Member Spotlight feature gives coaches a structured way to recognise standout members each month. A nominated member's story is featured in the community feed and surfaces social sharing prompts to amplify recognition beyond the platform.

How It Works

1. Coach Submits a Nomination

Any coach on the platform can nominate a member of the month. When submitting a nomination, the coach:

  • Selects the member to spotlight from the gym's member list.
  • Writes a story — this could cover a personal milestone, a performance breakthrough, consistency over time, or a contribution to the gym community.
  • Submits the nomination for publication.

2. Spotlight Is Featured in the Community Feed

Once the spotlight is published, it appears prominently in the in-app community feed. All members of the gym can view it, react to it, and comment — reinforcing the sense of shared community.

3. Social Sharing Prompts Are Triggered

When a spotlight goes live, the platform automatically surfaces social sharing prompts. Coaches and gym owners are encouraged to share the spotlight to connected social channels, turning member recognition into organic brand advocacy.

Use Cases

  • Celebrate a member's first pull-up or competition finish — acknowledge personal achievements in a public, meaningful way.
  • Highlight a member who has shown up consistently for months — reward effort and discipline, not just results.
  • Recognise a member who has contributed positively to the gym culture — reinforce the behaviours that strengthen the community.

Retention & Advocacy Impact

The Member Spotlight is designed with two outcomes in mind:

  1. Retention — Members who feel seen and recognised are more likely to remain engaged with the gym long-term.
  2. Brand Advocacy — Social sharing of spotlight stories extends the gym's reach, attracting prospective members who resonate with the community's values.

Notes for Coaches

  • Nominations are monthly; only one spotlight is featured per cycle.
  • Stories should be authentic and specific — vague praise is less impactful than a concrete narrative about the member's journey.
  • The nominated member is notified when their spotlight is published.
