Starting today, Sidekick connects directly to Linear — so your AI agent can track issues, update statuses, and summarise sprint progress without you ever leaving your current context.

The Problem It Solves

Engineering teams live in Linear, but the work that generates Linear issues happens everywhere else — Slack threads, email chains, standup messages, and ad-hoc conversations. Turning that signal into structured issues is repetitive, low-value work. Sidekick's new Linear adapter takes that off your plate.

Create Issues from Conversations

When something actionable shows up in a message — a bug report, a feature request, a follow-up from a meeting — your agent can open a properly structured Linear issue on the spot. No copy-paste, no tab switching.

"Turn the bug Alice flagged in the #backend Slack channel into a Linear issue for the Platform team."

Update Issue Statuses

Your agent can move issues through your workflow states on command, or autonomously when it detects that a task has been completed based on conversation context.

"Mark ENG-412 as In Progress and assign it to me."

Sprint Summaries on Demand

Instead of clicking through Linear boards before a standup, ask your agent:

"What's the status of the current sprint for the Platform team?"

You'll get a structured breakdown: completed work, in-flight items, and anything that's blocked — pulled live from Linear.

Getting Started

Connecting is straightforward:

  1. Open Settings → Integrations in your Sidekick dashboard.
  2. Select Linear and click Connect.
  3. Complete the OAuth authorisation in Linear.
  4. Choose which teams and projects the agent can access.

No API keys. No configuration files. Just OAuth and you're live.

What's Next

This release focuses on core read/write operations. Future iterations of the Linear adapter will expand into deeper automations — things like auto-triaging incoming issues, linking related issues across projects, and syncing Linear status changes back into your other connected tools.
