Run Your Own Competitions: Throwdown Event Management in v1.0.11

We're excited to ship v1.0.11, which brings a full competition management system to the platform. If your gym runs in-house Throwdown events — or you've been wanting to — you can now handle every part of the process without a spreadsheet or a third-party tool.

What's in this release

Throwdown Event Management covers the full competition lifecycle:

For gym owners and coaches:

  • Create competition events with multiple divisions (Rx, Scaled, Masters, etc.)
  • Set capacity limits and let the platform manage the waitlist automatically
  • Attach digital waivers that athletes sign during registration
  • Collect entry fees through your connected Stripe account
  • View real-time registration data and export it for scoring

For members and athletes:

  • Browse and register for open competitions directly from the member portal
  • Select a division, form or join a team, sign a waiver, and pay — all in one flow
  • Get automatically promoted from the waitlist if a spot opens up

How registration works

When an athlete registers for a Throwdown, they move through a short, structured flow:

  1. Choose a division
  2. Form or join a team (team-format events only)
  3. Sign the event waiver (if one is attached)
  4. Pay the entry fee via Stripe (if one is set)

Their spot is confirmed the moment all steps are complete. If the event is already full, they're added to the waitlist and notified automatically if a spot opens.

Capacity and waitlists are automatic

Once you set a capacity, the platform handles the rest. No more manually tracking who's in, who's out, or who's next in line. When a registered athlete cancels, the next person on the waitlist gets an automatic notification and a window to claim the spot.

Get started

To create your first Throwdown event, go to Events → New Event → Throwdown in the admin dashboard. If you're planning to charge an entry fee, make sure your Stripe account is connected first under Settings → Billing.

Full documentation is available in the Throwdown Event Management guide.
