Introducing Session Logging & Automatic PR Detection

v1.0.83 | Session Logging & PR Recording System

Every rep, every load, every personal record — now captured automatically as part of how members finish a session.

The Problem It Solves

Logging performance data after a workout has always been a manual, fragmented process. Members either write it in a notebook, enter it in a separate app, or skip it altogether. When records do get captured, spotting a personal best typically means cross-referencing history yourself.

This release closes that gap by making session logging a first-class part of the training experience — and by having the platform do the work of detecting personal records automatically.

What Members Can Log

At the end of every session, members now have a structured logging screen where they can record:

  • Score — the result that defines how the session went: a time, a round count, a rep total
  • Loads per movement — exactly what was lifted for each movement, building a granular load history over time
  • Notes — free-text space for anything worth remembering: scaling choices, how something felt, cues to carry forward
  • RPE — a Rate of Perceived Exertion rating that puts a number on how hard the session actually felt

Taken together, this data gives both members and coaches a rich, accurate record of what happened — not just a score, but the full context around it.

Automatic PR Detection

Here's where it gets interesting.

When a member logs their loads, the platform automatically checks each one against the stored 1RM for that movement. If the logged load beats the record, two things happen:

  1. The 1RM for that movement is updated to the new value
  2. A PR celebration moment fires — right there, in context, at the moment the record is broken

No separate entry. No manual flagging. The system detects it and marks it.

A single session can surface multiple PRs if several movements hit new highs. And because the 1RM store updates immediately, every future session is already comparing against the latest benchmark.

Why This Matters

Session logging feeds directly into the platform's broader intelligence layer. Load history and RPE data inform AI-personalised programming. PR records become part of a member's progress story. Coaches get an accurate picture of what their members are actually lifting — not estimates, not gaps.

For members, the PR celebration UX turns a data-entry step into a moment worth having. Progress is acknowledged at the exact point it happens.

Session logging is available to all members starting with v1.0.83. Open a completed session and the logging screen will be presented on completion.
