Introducing Period-End Financial Close & Consolidation

Introducing Period-End Financial Close & Consolidation

Released in v1.0.83

Closing the books is one of the most coordination-heavy processes a finance team runs — typically every month, every quarter, and every year-end. It involves dozens of tasks across multiple people, journal entries that need review and approval, intercompany transactions that must be eliminated, and — if your organization spans multiple entities — a consolidation step that has to tie everything together before anyone can see the full picture.

Most teams manage this with a mix of spreadsheets, email threads, and shared drives. It works, until it doesn't.

With v1.0.83, we're shipping a dedicated Period-End Financial Close & Consolidation module that brings every step of this process into the platform.

What's Included

Structured Task Checklists

Every close period starts with a checklist. The new module lets you build that checklist directly in the platform — assigning each task to a specific team member and attaching a deadline. No more parsing a shared spreadsheet to figure out who owns what or whether something has been done.

Checklists are reusable. Build a template once and apply it to every subsequent period, adjusting dates and assignments as needed.

Journal Entry Management

Preparers create journal entries within the close workflow, and approvers review and sign off before anything is posted. The full entry history is tied to the close period, giving you an auditable record of what was recorded, by whom, and when.

Intercompany Eliminations

For organizations with multiple entities transacting with each other, intercompany eliminations are one of the most error-prone steps in the close. The platform now automates the identification of intercompany balances and generates the corresponding elimination entries for your review — removing a significant source of manual effort and consolidation risk.

Multi-Entity Consolidation

Once each entity completes its individual close, the platform consolidates results across your full organizational structure. Eliminations are reflected automatically, and the consolidated view is available as soon as all contributing entities are closed.

Real-Time Progress Tracking

A live progress dashboard shows where the close stands at any moment — overall completion percentages, task-level status by assignee, and flagged items at risk of missing their deadlines. Finance leaders no longer need to chase status updates; the dashboard surfaces everything in one place.
