Sidekick is Now OpenClaw Compatible — Bring Your Skills, Leave the Server Behind
Release v1.0.76
If you've been running OpenClaw on a local machine or a VPS you'd rather not maintain, today's release is for you.
Starting with v1.0.76, Sidekick prominently surfaces its OpenClaw compatibility throughout the product — and we've shipped a full migration guide to make the move straightforward.
What 'OpenClaw Compatible' Means
OpenClaw has built a vibrant ecosystem of 13,000+ community skills on ClawHub, all defined using a simple SKILL.md format. Sidekick has supported this format from the start via ClawHub integration, but we wanted to make that fact impossible to miss.
A new 'Works with OpenClaw Skills' badge now appears across the Sidekick dashboard and marketing surfaces. It's a small change visually, but an important signal: every skill you've built or installed on OpenClaw works on Sidekick — no rewriting, no reformatting.
The one meaningful difference is how local binary dependencies are handled. OpenClaw expects you to install and manage binaries (ffmpeg, tesseract, and friends) on the host machine yourself. Sidekick translates those dependencies automatically to equivalent cloud services at import time. You get the same capability; we take on the infrastructure problem.
The Migration Guide
We've also shipped a step-by-step migration guide for OpenClaw users:
- Export your skills from your OpenClaw installation
- Import them into Sidekick — the dashboard handles dependency mapping automatically
- Connect your accounts — email, calendar, GitHub, Slack, smart home, and 100+ more
Once those three steps are done, your skills run 24/7 on Sidekick's cloud infrastructure. Your machine can stay off.
The Badge Component
For completeness: the OpenClaw compatibility badge is built as a reusable component, so it can appear consistently wherever it's relevant — marketing pages, the dashboard, onboarding flows — without being duplicated or drifting out of sync.
Getting Started
If you're an existing OpenClaw user, check out the migration guide to move your setup over.
If you're new to Sidekick, sign up, connect your accounts, and browse ClawHub skills directly from the dashboard — no local install ever required.
