From Vanity Metrics to Portfolio Health: What's New on the Dashboard
Release v0.1.61
When you log into your dashboard every morning, what do you actually need to know?
Not how many team members are in your account. Not a raw count of events from the last 24 hours. Not whether your subscription is active — you already know that, you're logged in.
You need to know: is my portfolio healthy, compliant, and moving forward?
With v0.1.61, the Overview tab on the dashboard now answers exactly that.
What we replaced
The previous Overview tab showed four cards:
- Team Members — a number you set up once and rarely think about
- Activity (24h) — a catch-all event count with no actionable signal
- Feedback count — uncontextualised and rarely checked
- Subscription status — useful at billing time, not every morning
These were the dashboard equivalent of a weather station that only tells you what day of the week it is. Technically information. Not useful.
What's there now
Five KPIs, each mapped to a real decision an agent makes:
Active Tenancies — Your live portfolio count. A baseline to anchor everything else.
Deposits at Risk — Unprotected deposits, surfaced immediately. Under the Renters' Rights Act, every unprotected deposit is a liability. This number should always be zero.
Reports Due This Week — Check-outs and inspections with deadlines in the next 7 days. The forward view that lets you plan, not react.
Avg Days to Deposit Release — How fast are tenancies actually closing? This rolling average tells you whether your end-of-tenancy process is improving or slipping.
Open Disputes — Live disputes in negotiation. Each one represents a relationship that needs attention and a deposit that hasn't been returned.
Built for how agents actually work
Each card does three things:
- Shows the number — the current figure, pulled from your existing work queue data.
- Shows the trend — a delta vs. the last 30 days, so you can see direction, not just state.
- Gets out of the way — click any card and you're taken straight to the relevant section to take action.
No dead ends. No hunting through menus. The Overview is now a launchpad.
Why this matters
Our mission is to make the end of every tenancy fair, fast, and stress-free. That starts with giving agents the right information at the right time — not burying compliance risks inside reports, and not cluttering the most-viewed page with data that doesn't help anyone do their job.
The new KPIs are a small change to the interface and a meaningful change to how quickly agents can understand what needs their attention today.
The updated Overview stats are live in v0.1.61. No configuration required — the cards are powered by your existing dashboard data.
