Preferred Channel Routing
Preferred Channel Routing
Sidekick lets you choose where your AI communicates with you. Instead of being tied to one interface, you set a preferred channel and all agent messages, alerts, and replies flow through it — on your terms, on your device.
Supported Channels
| Channel | Best For |
|---|---|
| Browser Chat | Desktop users, dashboard-first workflows |
| Telegram | Mobile notifications, lightweight messaging |
| Slack | Team environments, existing Slack workflows |
| Mobile-first users, international messaging | |
| Async communication, detailed digests |
Setting Your Preferred Channel
- Open Settings → Communication.
- Under Preferred Channel, select the channel you want Sidekick to use.
- If the channel requires authentication (Telegram, Slack, WhatsApp), follow the connection prompts.
- Click Save. Sidekick will now route all agent communication through that channel.
Switching Channels
You can switch your preferred channel at any time — your conversation history and active tasks carry over seamlessly. For example:
- Start a conversation with your agent in the browser chat at your desk.
- Later, switch to Telegram on your phone and pick up exactly where you left off.
No messages are lost and no context is reset when you switch.
Notes
- Only one channel can be designated as the preferred channel at a time.
- Changing your preferred channel takes effect immediately for new messages.
- In-progress conversations are accessible from the new channel without re-authentication.
- Each channel must be connected under Settings → Integrations before it can be set as preferred.
