Member Onboarding Flow: Track Selection & Goal Setup

Member Onboarding Flow: Track Selection & Goal Setup

Introduced in v1.0.86

When a new member joins the platform, they are guided through a structured onboarding flow that collects the profile data needed to activate AI-personalised programming. The flow covers three steps: programme track selection, 12-week goal setup, and optional health integration connections.

Completing onboarding is required before the platform can begin routing sessions and delivering personalised training.

Step 1 — Programme Track Selection

Members choose a training track that matches their primary focus and training background. The selected track determines:

  • Which programme stream the member is enrolled in.
  • How the AI routes and sequences sessions.
  • The default movement library, loading schemes, and progressions applied to their plan.

Track selection can typically be updated by a coach or gym owner after onboarding if a member's needs change.

Step 2 — 12-Week Goal Setup

Members set up to three goals, each scoped to a 12-week horizon. Every goal must be assigned one of the following categories:

CategoryDescriptionExamples
PerformanceSport, strength, or skill targetsImprove 1RM back squat, run a 5K, master double-unders
Body CompositionPhysical composition objectivesLose body fat, build lean muscle, reach a target weight
LifestyleWellbeing and consistency intentionsTrain 3× per week, improve sleep quality, reduce stress

How goals influence programming

The AI coaching layer reads goal categories and specific targets to:

  • Adjust weekly volume and intensity distribution across the 12-week block.
  • Prioritise relevant movement patterns and energy systems.
  • Surface progress metrics aligned to each declared goal.
  • Prompt check-ins at regular intervals to track goal progress.

Members can hold a maximum of three active goals simultaneously. Goals can be reviewed and updated at the end of each 12-week cycle.

Step 3 — Health Integrations (Optional)

Members may connect wearable devices and health data sources during onboarding. These integrations are optional but unlock additional AI personalisation capabilities.

Connected health data is used to:

  • Assess daily readiness — recovery scores and HRV data inform whether a session is delivered at standard, elevated, or reduced intensity.
  • Monitor load accumulation — sleep, activity, and strain data feed into the platform's injury risk and recovery monitoring layer.
  • Personalise session recommendations — the AI adjusts the day's training stimulus based on the member's current physiological state.

Integrations can also be connected or disconnected after onboarding from the member's profile settings.

What Happens After Onboarding

Once all three steps are complete, the member's profile record is fully populated and the platform unlocks:

  • AI session routing — daily sessions are generated and sequenced based on track, goals, and readiness data.
  • Session delivery — the member's home feed begins surfacing their personalised training schedule.
  • Progress tracking — goal timelines and performance baselines are established for ongoing tracking.

If a member exits the onboarding flow before completing it, they will be prompted to resume on their next login. AI routing and session delivery remain inactive until onboarding is fully completed.

For Coaches & Gym Owners

  • Member onboarding status is visible from the member management dashboard.
  • Coaches can manually complete or edit a member's track and goal selections on their behalf.
  • Health integration status is visible on each member's profile card alongside their readiness indicators.
