v1.0.47: You Choose Where Sidekick Talks to You

v1.0.47: You Choose Where Sidekick Talks to You

We're shipping Preferred Channel Routing in v1.0.47 — a straightforward but fundamental change to how Sidekick communicates with you.

The Problem

Your day doesn't happen in one place. You're at your desk in the morning, on your phone at lunch, back at your laptop in the afternoon. Your AI agent, however, was only reachable from the browser dashboard. That meant missed notifications when you were away from your computer, and no clean way to continue a task you'd started on one device from another.

What's Changing

Starting with v1.0.47, you can set a preferred communication channel. Sidekick will route all agent messages — replies, task updates, proactive alerts — through whichever channel you designate.

The supported channels are:

  • Browser Chat — the built-in Sidekick dashboard chat interface
  • Telegram — for users who live on their phone
  • Slack — for teams or users already in Slack all day
  • WhatsApp — broad mobile reach
  • Email — for async-first users who prefer inbox delivery

Seamless Mid-Conversation Switching

Beyond the preferred channel setting, conversations are no longer tied to a single surface. Start asking Sidekick to work on something in the browser, step away, and pick it up on Telegram. The context travels with you. Sidekick doesn't forget what you were discussing just because you changed devices or apps.

This is how a personal AI assistant should work — it adapts to where you are, not the other way around.

Getting Started

Head to Settings → Communication, pick your preferred channel, and save. That's it. Make sure the channel is connected under Settings → Integrations first — Sidekick needs the integration active before it can route through it.

Released in v1.0.47. Available to all Sidekick users immediately.
