The Frontline Workforce Tools module delivers a mobile-first experience for employees who work without regular access to a desk or laptop — such as retail workers, warehouse staff, field operatives, and hospitality teams. All functionality is accessible directly from a mobile browser or the platform's mobile app.


Overview

Frontline workers can now perform essential HR and payroll tasks from their mobile device, including clocking in and out, checking their schedule, requesting time off, viewing pay stubs, and submitting expenses — all without needing a desktop or company-issued computer.


Features

Clock In / Clock Out

Employees can record the start and end of their shifts directly from their mobile device.

  • Tap Clock In at the start of a shift to begin recording time.
  • Tap Clock Out at the end of a shift to close the time entry.
  • Time records are immediately synced to the platform and visible to managers.

Schedule Viewing

Workers can view their assigned schedules from anywhere.

  • View upcoming shifts for the current and future weeks.
  • Review past shift history.
  • Schedules are updated in real time as managers make changes.

PTO Requests

Employees can submit paid time off requests from their mobile device.

  • Select the desired date range and leave type.
  • Add an optional note for the manager.
  • Track the status of submitted requests (pending, approved, declined).

Pay Stub Access

Frontline workers can access their pay history without visiting HR or logging into a desktop system.

  • View a list of all past pay stubs.
  • Download individual pay stubs as PDFs.
  • Pay stubs reflect all earnings, deductions, and net pay for each pay period.

Expense Submission

Employees can submit expenses in the field as they occur.

  • Enter expense details including amount, category, and date.
  • Attach a photo of a receipt directly from the device camera.
  • Track submission status through the approval workflow.

Access & Permissions

The frontline mobile experience is available to all users assigned a Frontline Worker role within the platform. Administrators can assign this role from the People module under user settings.

No additional configuration or licensing is required for tenants already on v1.0.27 or later.


Device Requirements

  • Any modern mobile browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox for Android/iOS).
  • Platform mobile app (iOS and Android) is supported.
  • An active internet connection is required for all actions; offline mode is not currently supported.
