Composite Score Weighting
Composite Score Weighting
The composite opportunity score is the primary signal used to rank discovered SaaS products on the dashboard. By default, the platform weights each scoring dimension according to a built-in formula, but admins can customise these weights to match their organisation's priorities.
Scoring Dimensions
Every analysed product is scored across four dimensions:
| Dimension | What It Measures | Default Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Replicability | How feasible the product is to build with our stack | 30% |
| Market Demand | Review volume and sentiment across the source directory | 25% |
| Revenue Potential | Pricing tier signals and addressable market size | 30% |
| Competitive Gap | Weaknesses revealed by negative reviews | 15% |
The composite score is a weighted average of these four dimensions. Products are ranked on the dashboard by composite score in descending order.
Configuring Weights
Admin only. Weight configuration is restricted to admin users.
- Navigate to Settings from the main navigation.
- Locate the Scoring Weights section.
- Adjust the percentage value for each dimension using the provided inputs.
- Ensure the four weights sum to 100% before saving — the UI will surface a validation error if they do not.
- Click Save. Re-ranking begins automatically in the background.
How Re-ranking Works
When weights are saved:
- A background job recalculates the composite score for every product in your organisation's dataset using the new weight configuration.
- The dashboard ranking updates once the job completes — no manual refresh is needed.
- No AI analysis is re-run. The underlying dimension scores (replicability, market demand, revenue potential, competitive gap) remain unchanged; only the weighted combination is recalculated. This keeps re-ranking fast and free of additional AI costs.
Weight Storage
Weights are stored per organisation. Different organisations on the platform maintain independent weight configurations, so your team's rankings are not affected by any other org's settings.
Tips
- If your team prioritises speed-to-market, consider increasing Replicability weight.
- If you are scanning for under-served niches, increasing Competitive Gap weight surfaces products with the most user frustration — and therefore the most room for a better competitor.
- If you are primarily hunting high-revenue opportunities, increase Revenue Potential weight.
- Default weights are restored if you need to reset: set Replicability 30%, Market Demand 25%, Revenue Potential 30%, Competitive Gap 15%.
