Navigating Your Portfolio with Map View
Navigating Your Portfolio with Map View
The Properties list now includes a Map view — a geographic overview of your entire portfolio. It is designed to give agents and landlords with properties across multiple areas an instant visual of where their properties are, and which ones need attention right now.
Switching to Map View
The view toggle in the Properties list has three options:
| Option | Icon | Keyboard Shortcut |
|---|---|---|
| Grid | Grid icon | G |
| Table | Table icon | T |
| Map | Map icon | M |
Press M or click the Map icon in the toggle to switch to the map view at any time. Your selected view is preserved while you navigate within the properties section.

Postcode Clustering
When multiple properties share a postcode district, they are grouped into a single cluster marker. Click a cluster to zoom in and expand the individual property markers within that area. This keeps the map legible for portfolios with dozens of properties spread across a city or region.
Urgency Indicators
Each property marker carries a colour-coded status dot so the map is actionable, not just decorative:
- 🔴 Red dot — The property has an active compliance issue (e.g. missing deposit protection, overdue safety certificate).
- 🟠 Amber dot — The property has an upcoming checkout that requires preparation or review.
- No dot — The property has no immediate actions outstanding.
Urgency indicators update in line with the rest of the dashboard — no manual refresh is needed.
Who Benefits Most
- Multi-area portfolio managers who need a quick geographic sense of where their stock is distributed.
- Agents handling compliance runs who want to identify geographically clustered properties with open issues in one view before planning site visits.
- Landlords reviewing upcoming checkouts who want to see which areas have activity in a given period.
Keyboard Shortcuts Reference
The map view shortcut follows the same pattern as other view-switching shortcuts in the dashboard:
G → Grid view
T → Table view
M → Map view
Shortcuts are active whenever focus is not inside a text input field.
