See Which Lesson Resources Your Learners Are Actually Using

Release: v1.0.77 · Learner — Lesson Attachment Download Tracking

You've spent time putting together supplementary materials for your courses — worksheets, reference PDFs, slide decks — and attaching them to lesson pages. But until now, there was no way to know whether learners were ever clicking that download button.

That changes in v1.0.77.

What We Shipped

Starting with this release, every time a learner downloads an attachment from a lesson, the platform records a timestamped event in the analytics log. The event captures who downloaded what, which lesson it came from, and exactly when it happened.

No configuration required. No new dashboards to set up. The events flow directly into the existing analytics log alongside the rest of your learner activity data.

Why It Matters

Attachment download data answers a simple but important question: are learners actually using the resources you provide?

With this data you can:

  • Identify high-value resources — if a particular PDF is downloaded by nearly every learner, it's worth keeping prominent and up to date.
  • Spot gaps in engagement — if a required reference document is rarely downloaded, it might be buried, mislabelled, or simply not needed.
  • Support individual learners — confirm whether a specific learner has accessed a document before following up with them.

How It Works

When a learner clicks to download a lesson attachment, the platform captures a download event and writes it to the analytics log with a UTC timestamp. From there, administrators can query the log using existing analytics tooling to filter and analyse download activity across courses, lessons, learners, and time periods.

Getting Started

This feature is available immediately from v1.0.77 with no action needed on your part. Upgrade to v1.0.77 and attachment downloads will begin appearing in your analytics log automatically.

Note: Only downloads that occur after upgrading to v1.0.77 are tracked. Historical download activity is not back-filled.
