Blog: Faster DD Operations with Dedicated Sidebar Navigation
Faster DD Operations with Dedicated Sidebar Navigation
v1.0.68 — Released today
Navigating a busy letting agent's dashboard should be fast. With this release, every key area of the Direct Debit service now has its own entry point in the sidebar — and the command palette has been wired up to get you to the most time-sensitive actions in seconds.
What changed
A sidebar built for DD work
Previously, DD features lived alongside general dashboard navigation. As the feature set has grown, that's become harder to work with. In v1.0.68 we've added five dedicated sidebar items — Mandates, Collections, Alerts, Reports, and DD Settings — so every part of the DD lifecycle has a clear, predictable home.
Status at a glance
Two of those sidebar items now carry live badge counts:
- The Mandates item tells you how many pending invites are still waiting on tenants to complete their forms.
- The Alerts item tells you how many alerts are sitting unacknowledged.
Neither of these requires you to click through to find out. If the numbers are non-zero, you know immediately.
Quick actions in the command palette
For power users, the command palette now includes three DD-specific shortcuts:
- Send Mandate Invite — kick off a new invite without hunting through the UI
- View Upcoming Collections — jump straight to what's scheduled in the next BACS window
- Acknowledge Alerts — go directly to the alerts triage screen
These actions are especially useful on collection days, when time matters and context-switching is costly.
Why it matters
The Direct Debit service is designed to run largely on autopilot — mandates are set up, collections run on schedule, funds sweep and forward automatically. But there are moments that need human attention: a new mandate invite that's stalled, an alert flagging an unusual collection volume, a clawback reserve that's tightened. This release makes those moments easier to spot and faster to act on.
Getting started
No configuration is required. If you have access to the dashboard, the new sidebar items and command palette actions are available immediately. Badge counts update in real time as mandates and alerts change state.
See the feature documentation for a full breakdown of each new navigation item and quick action.
