Skill Marketplace & Discovery
The Skill Marketplace lets you browse, search, and install skills from the ClawHub community ecosystem directly inside the Sidekick dashboard. With 13,729+ community skills available, you can extend your AI assistant's capabilities in seconds.
Accessing the Marketplace
Open the Skills section from the main dashboard sidebar. The marketplace loads automatically — no separate login or ClawHub account is needed.
Finding Skills
Semantic Search
Type a natural-language query into the search bar. The search engine matches skills by intent and meaning rather than exact keywords. For example, querying "summarise my overnight GitHub notifications" will surface relevant repository-monitoring and digest skills even if those words don't appear verbatim in the skill name.
Category Filtering
Use the category filter panel to narrow results by domain. Available categories include (but are not limited to):
- Productivity
- Developer Tools
- Communication
- Smart Home
- Calendar & Scheduling
- Finance
Popularity Sorting
Sort results by popularity to see the most widely used and highest-rated community skills first. This is the default sort order when no search query is active.
Installing a Skill
- Locate the skill you want using search or browsing.
- Open the skill card to review its description, compatibility status, and required connections.
- Click Install. The skill is immediately activated for your AI assistant — no restart or manual configuration required.
Compatibility Status
Each skill card displays a compatibility indicator:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Compatible | The skill works out of the box with your current connections. |
| Partially Compatible | The skill will work but some optional capabilities require additional connections. |
| Requires Setup | One or more required connections are not yet configured on your account. |
Required Connections
Before installing a skill, the skill card lists every service connection the skill depends on. If a required connection is missing, you are prompted to set it up via the Connections panel before the install completes.
ClawHub Compatibility
Sidekick is fully compatible with OpenClaw's 13,000+ community skills via ClawHub integration. Every SKILL.md definition from the ClawHub ecosystem works on Sidekick out of the box. Where a community skill references local binary dependencies (e.g. a locally installed CLI tool), Sidekick automatically translates those requirements to equivalent cloud services — no local installation needed.
Limitations
- Skills that require direct hardware access (e.g. USB peripherals) cannot be translated to cloud equivalents and will be marked as incompatible.
- Installed skills are scoped to your account and do not affect other users on a shared workspace unless explicitly shared.
