Blog: Coach Injury Logging & Movement Restriction System (v1.0.100)
What's New in v1.0.100: Coach Injury Logging & Movement Restriction System
One of the most common pain points for coaches running functional fitness programs is managing injured members safely — making sure a member recovering from a shoulder impingement doesn't get a session loaded with overhead pressing, or that someone nursing a lumbar strain isn't prescribed heavy Romanian deadlifts on day one of their return.
Until now, that required coaches to remember restrictions, manually edit sessions, and hope nothing slipped through. v1.0.100 changes that entirely.
Structured Injury Records, Built Into the Member Profile
Coaches can now log a formal injury record directly against a member's profile. This isn't a sticky note or a tag — it's a structured clinical record with fields for:
- Body region — exactly where the injury is
- Severity — how serious it is
- Mechanism — how it happened
- Treatment notes — what's being done about it
- Return-to-training date — when the member is cleared
This gives coaches and gym owners a clear, auditable picture of every member's injury history without relying on spreadsheets, email threads, or memory.
Movement Restrictions That Actually Get Enforced
The real power of this release is the connection between injury records and the session delivery engine.
When a coach logs an injury, they can attach a movement restriction list — a specific set of movements or movement patterns the member must avoid. From that point on, the session delivery engine enforces those restrictions automatically. Every time the platform generates or serves a session for that member, any restricted movement is filtered out or substituted before the member ever sees it.
No manual overrides. No checking every session by hand. The system just handles it.
What This Means for Coaches
- Less manual work — stop editing individual sessions for injured members.
- Fewer mistakes — restrictions are enforced at the engine level, not reliant on coach memory.
- Better records — every injury is documented with context, not just flagged.
- Smoother return-to-training — set a return date and restrictions lift automatically.
What This Means for Gym Owners
- Visibility — see all active injuries across your member base at a glance.
- Reduced liability — documented, enforced restrictions create a clear record of due diligence.
- Healthier retention — members who are managed through injury properly are more likely to stay.
