Introducing the Custom Reporting Builder

Introducing the Custom Reporting Builder

Release: v1.0.66

We're shipping a major addition to the platform: the Custom Reporting Builder — a visual, drag-and-drop interface that lets you build tailored reports across every module in the system.

Why It Matters

Until now, reporting was limited to the pre-built views within each module. The Custom Reporting Builder removes that constraint. You can now combine HR, payroll, finance, spend, and contract data into a single report, on your terms, without writing a single query.

What's Included

Drag-and-Drop Report Builder

The visual interface lets you:

  • Select data sources from any module (HR, Payroll, Talent, Finance, Spend Management, Contracts, and more)
  • Add, remove, and reorder columns by dragging fields into your report layout
  • Apply filters, groupings, and sorting rules directly in the canvas
  • Preview live results as you build

No SQL. No exports. No waiting on an analyst.

Cross-Module Reporting

Reports are not siloed to a single module. You can pull headcount data alongside budget variance, or combine contract renewal dates with associated spend — in one unified view. This is particularly valuable for:

  • Finance teams correlating headcount costs with budget forecasts
  • HR leaders tracking hiring pipeline against approved headcount
  • Operations teams reviewing contract obligations alongside vendor spend

Scheduled Delivery

Automate report distribution by configuring a recurring schedule:

  • Choose from daily, weekly, monthly, or custom cron-style cadences
  • Specify delivery recipients by user or group
  • Deliver via email or in-app notification
  • Reports run automatically at the scheduled time — no manual intervention required

This keeps stakeholders informed without requiring anyone to manually pull and share data.

Collaborative Report Sharing

Reports are collaborative by design:

  • Share any saved report with individual users or teams
  • Shared reports appear in recipients' report libraries
  • Teams can build on each other's reports, promoting consistent metrics and definitions across departments
  • Permissions are respected — users only see data they are authorised to access, even within shared reports

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to Reports in the main navigation.
  2. Click New Report to open the report builder canvas.
  3. Select your data sources from the module picker on the left panel.
  4. Drag fields into the report layout and configure filters as needed.
  5. Click Save to store your report, or Schedule to set up automated delivery.
  6. Use Share to distribute the report with colleagues.

Availability

The Custom Reporting Builder is available to all users on the platform as of v1.0.66. Access is subject to your role-based permissions — contact your administrator if you need access to specific modules or data sources.
