Coach Injury Logging & Movement Restriction System
Coach Injury Logging & Movement Restriction System
The injury logging system gives coaches a structured way to record member injuries and automatically enforce movement restrictions throughout the session delivery pipeline. This removes the need for manual programming workarounds when a member is injured and reduces the risk of a restricted movement being accidentally prescribed.
Logging an Injury
Coaches can create an injury record against any member profile. Each record captures the following fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Body region | The anatomical area affected (e.g. shoulder, lumbar spine, knee, hip). |
| Severity | A classification of how serious the injury is (e.g. minor, moderate, severe). |
| Mechanism | How the injury occurred — acute trauma, overuse, unknown, or a custom note. |
| Treatment notes | Free-text field for physiotherapy instructions, clinical notes, or coach observations. |
| Return-to-training date | The date from which the member is cleared to resume unrestricted training. |
| Movement restriction list | A list of specific movements or movement patterns the member must not perform. |
Steps
- Navigate to the member's profile in the coaching dashboard.
- Open the Injury & Health section.
- Select Log Injury.
- Fill in the body region, severity, and mechanism fields.
- Add any treatment notes relevant to the injury.
- Set a return-to-training date if known, or leave it open-ended.
- Add movements to the restriction list using the movement library search.
- Save the record. The session delivery engine will begin enforcing restrictions immediately.
Movement Restriction Enforcement
When a session is served to a member who has one or more active injury records, the session delivery engine checks each prescribed movement against the member's combined restriction list.
- Restricted movements are automatically filtered or substituted before the session reaches the member — the member will never see a movement they are restricted from performing.
- Restrictions remain active until the return-to-training date is reached or the injury record is manually resolved by a coach.
- If a member has multiple active injury records, restrictions from all records are merged and applied together.
Note: Coaches and gym owners can view all active injury records and restriction lists at any time. Member-facing visibility is governed by role permissions configured at the gym level.
Managing Injury Records
- Resolving a record — mark an injury as resolved to lift all associated movement restrictions immediately, regardless of the return-to-training date.
- Editing a record — all fields can be updated after creation. Changes to the movement restriction list take effect on the next session served.
- History — resolved injury records are retained on the member profile for historical reference and are not deleted.
