Send Mandate Invite UI Flow

Send Mandate Invite UI Flow

Available from v1.0.29, letting agents can send Direct Debit mandate invitations to tenants directly from the dashboard without writing any API calls.

Where to Find It

Navigate to Dashboard → Mandates → Invite (/dashboard/mandates/invite).

Filling In the Form

FieldDescription
Tenant EmailThe email address where the invite link will be sent.
First NameTenant's first name.
Last NameTenant's last name.
Property AddressThe address associated with the tenancy.
Amount (£)The recurring collection amount in GBP.
FrequencyHow often the collection runs — weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.
Collection DayThe day of the month (or week) on which funds will be collected.
Mandate Typeproperty (includes the Right to Rent verification step) or non-property (skips Right to Rent).

Date Preview

Before you submit, a preview panel displays:

  • First collection date — the first day funds will be debited from the tenant's account, calculated using BACS working day rules and the UK bank holiday calendar.
  • Receipt date — the date the funds are expected to arrive, accounting for the standard BACS clearing cycle.

This gives both the agent and tenant a clear, accurate picture of when money will move.

Submitting the Invite

  1. Complete all fields and review the date preview.
  2. Click Send Invite.
  3. The system calls the invite token generation procedure and produces a unique, tokenised mandate form URL.
  4. The generated link is displayed on screen with a Copy button for easy sharing.
  5. The invite email is dispatched to the tenant automatically — no additional step is needed.

What the Tenant Receives

The tenant receives an email containing their unique mandate form link. Clicking the link opens the multi-step mandate form where they will:

  1. Confirm personal information
  2. Accept the Direct Debit Guarantee
  3. Review payment details (including the collection and receipt dates shown in the preview)
  4. Enter bank details
  5. Record a short video verification
  6. Complete ID verification
  7. Complete Right to Rent (property mandates only)
  8. Confirm and submit

Notes

  • The mandate type selected in the invite form determines whether the tenant sees the Right to Rent step.
  • The invite link is single-use and tied to the details entered at the time of sending.
  • If you need to resend or change any details, generate a new invite.
