Introducing the Guided Onboarding Flow

v1.0.63 — Onboarding Flow with Progressive Setup

One of the hardest problems with powerful software is the blank-canvas problem: you open the app for the first time, see a dashboard full of options, and have no idea where to start. Sidekick connects to 100+ services, runs 13,000+ community skills, and can act autonomously across your entire digital life — which is exactly the kind of power that can feel paralyzing on day one.

With v1.0.63, we're shipping a guided onboarding flow that solves this head-on.

One thing at a time

The new flow is built around the principle of progressive disclosure. Instead of presenting the full platform immediately, we walk you through three focused milestones:

  1. Connect one integration. Pick a service you already use. Authorize it. Done.
  2. Install one skill. We recommend a skill matched to what you just connected. One click.
  3. See the agent act. Watch it run that skill against your real data, right now, before you've touched a single setting.

By the end of step three — which takes most users under five minutes — you've seen Sidekick do something genuinely useful with your actual data. That's the goal: not a tour of features, but a real outcome.

Complexity on your terms

After the three milestones, the full dashboard opens up. More integrations, more skills, scheduling, automation rules, action history — all of it is there when you're ready for it. The onboarding flow doesn't hide these things permanently; it just makes sure your first experience is a success rather than a scavenger hunt.

Under the hood

The flow is fully contextual. Skill recommendations in step two are driven by the integration you connected in step one. The agent action in step three runs against your live data — not sample data, not a demo environment. What you see is what Sidekick will actually do.

Every action taken during onboarding goes through the same approval and undo mechanisms as any other agent action. You're in control from the first moment.

Who sees this?

The guided flow is triggered automatically for new accounts on first login. Existing users are unaffected. If you'd prefer to skip it, there's a "Skip setup" link available at every step.

This release is available now for all new Sidekick accounts. Existing users can explore the full onboarding documentation to understand how new team members will experience the platform.
