Workforce Capacity Planning — v1.0.87 Release Highlights

Released in v1.0.87. This post covers what shipped, why it matters, and what you can do with it today.

What Shipped

v1.0.87 delivers Workforce Capacity Planning — a set of capabilities that brings headcount planning, hiring modelling, and skills intelligence together inside the platform. Rather than managing these in disconnected spreadsheets or standalone tools, teams can now work from a single source of truth that connects workforce data directly to financial constraints.

Key Capabilities

Plan Headcount by Department, Role, and Skill Set

Capacity planning is now structured around the dimensions that matter most to operational leaders: which departments need people, what roles are required, and what skills those roles demand. Planning is scoped by quarter, so teams can build rolling 4-quarter views and adjust as priorities shift.

Model Hiring Plans Against Budget Constraints

Every headcount decision has a cost. The new hiring plan modeller lets you define budget envelopes and immediately see whether a proposed hiring plan is feasible. Finance and HR can iterate on scenarios together — adjusting role mix, start dates, or salary bands — and converge on a plan that fits within approved spend before any requisitions are opened.

Identify Skill Gaps Early

The platform compares your current workforce's skill profile against planned project demands and operational requirements. Gaps surface as actionable shortfalls: the specific skills missing, the roles they're needed in, and the timeline by which they're required. Teams can use this to decide whether to recruit, retrain, or restructure.

Detect Overstaffing Risks Before They Become Costs

Overstaffing is as costly as understaffing, and harder to spot in advance. The capacity planner flags departments or roles where projected headcount exceeds anticipated workload demand, giving leaders the lead time to redeploy talent, reduce contractor spend, or revisit hiring timelines.
