Plan Upgrade & Downgrade Flow

Plan Upgrade & Downgrade Flow

Sidekick v1.0.71 introduces seamless self-serve plan management. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription directly from the dashboard without contacting support.

Upgrading Your Plan

Upgrades are processed through a hosted Stripe Checkout session.

  1. Go to Settings → Billing.
  2. Click Upgrade Plan and select your target tier (Pro or Enterprise).
  3. You are redirected to Stripe Checkout to confirm payment details.
  4. On completion, your new plan takes effect immediately.

Prorated billing: If you upgrade mid-cycle, Stripe charges only for the remaining days in the current billing period. The full new-plan rate applies from the next renewal date.

Downgrading Your Plan

Downgrades follow a grace period model — your current features are not removed immediately.

  1. Go to Settings → Billing.
  2. Click Change Plan and select a lower tier.
  3. Confirm the downgrade. Your account is scheduled to move to the new tier at the end of the current billing cycle.
  4. Until that date, all features from your current (higher) tier remain fully accessible.

What happens at renewal: On the next billing date, your plan switches to the lower tier, unused features are removed, and you are billed at the lower rate going forward.

Prorated Credits on Downgrade

If a downgrade results in a billing credit (e.g. you prepaid annually), Stripe calculates the prorated amount and applies it to your account balance automatically.

Cancelling Your Subscription

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing → Cancel Subscription.

  • Access continues until the end of the current paid period.
  • During the cancellation flow, you are offered a data export option. Accepting it queues a full export of your connected data (messages, calendar events, integrations configuration, etc.) which is delivered to your registered email address.
  • Skipping the data export does not affect the cancellation — it completes regardless.

After the paid period ends, the account is moved to a read-only state for 30 days before permanent deletion, giving you a final window to retrieve your data.

FAQ

Can I upgrade mid-month and only pay for part of the month? Yes. Stripe calculates the prorated amount for the remaining days and charges only that amount at upgrade time.

Will I lose my integrations the moment I downgrade? No. Integrations and features stay active until the end of your current billing period thanks to the grace period.

What does the data export include? The export covers all user-owned data stored by Sidekick: message history, calendar data, integration configurations, and skill settings. It is delivered as a downloadable archive to your account email.

Can I re-subscribe after cancelling? Yes. You can re-subscribe at any time from the login screen or from within the account during the 30-day post-cancellation read-only period.
