Lead Category Assignment

The Lead Category Assignment UI is the starting point for every nurture sequence in NurtureHub. By assigning a contact to one of twelve predefined categories, you tell the AI exactly what kind of lead it is working with — and the platform immediately generates a tailored three-email sequence in your agency's brand voice.

Opening the Assignment UI

The category assignment flow can be triggered from two places:

  • Contact list — select the assign-category action on any contact row.
  • Contact detail page — use the "Assign Category" button in the contact header or summary panel.

The UI opens as a modal (desktop) or a bottom drawer (mobile), overlaying the current page without requiring navigation away.

Choosing a Category

The modal/drawer displays twelve category cards. Each card shows:

  • A unique icon representing the contact type
  • The category name
  • A short description to help you choose the right fit

The Twelve Categories

Select the card that best describes the contact. You can change this at any time (see Reassigning a Category below).

What Happens on Selection

As soon as you confirm a category selection, NurtureHub:

  1. Saves the category against the contact record.
  2. Triggers the AI sequence generation pipeline immediately.
  3. Generates a personalised three-email nurture sequence aligned to the chosen category and your agency's brand voice.
  4. Presents the draft sequence for your review and approval before any email is sent.

No workflow configuration or template selection is required. The sequence is ready to review in seconds.

Reassigning a Category

If a contact's situation changes — for example, a Buyer becomes a Prospective Seller — you can reassign the category at any time using the same UI.

When a new category is assigned:

  • The existing nurture sequence is archived. It is no longer active but remains visible in the contact's history for reference.
  • A new sequence generation pipeline is triggered immediately for the updated category.
  • The new draft sequence goes through the standard review and approval flow before sending.

There is no limit on how many times a contact's category can be changed.

Notes

  • Each contact holds one active category at a time.
  • Archived sequences retain their send history and engagement data.
  • Category assignment syncs back to your connected CRM where the integration supports custom field mapping.
