Morning Check-In & Readiness Score

Morning Check-In & Readiness Score

The Morning Check-In is a sub-30-second daily logging flow that captures how a member is feeling each day. The data collected feeds directly into the platform's readiness score, which influences AI-personalised training recommendations.

Overview

Each morning, members are prompted to complete a short check-in covering four subjective wellness signals:

SignalDescription
HRVPerceived heart rate variability — how recovered the body feels
Sleep DurationHow many hours of sleep were logged the previous night
Soreness RatingA scale indicating current muscular soreness
Stress LevelSelf-reported mental and emotional stress

Combined with data synced from connected wearables, these inputs produce a readiness score that reflects how prepared the member is to train.

Readiness Score

The readiness score is a composite value derived from:

  • The four subjective check-in inputs above
  • Objective wearable data (where connected — e.g. resting HR, HRV, sleep quality)

A higher readiness score indicates the member is well-recovered and ready to take on a higher training load. A lower score may signal the need for lighter work, recovery-focused programming, or rest.

The readiness score is used by the AI programming layer to adjust daily session intensity, volume, and track selection.

Home Screen Widget

The Morning Check-In appears as a home screen widget, so members can see and complete their check-in without navigating through menus.

  • One-tap habit marking — members can mark the check-in as done directly from the widget
  • The widget updates to reflect the day's readiness score once the check-in is submitted
  • Streak and habit data is tracked over time to encourage consistent daily logging

How to Complete the Check-In

  1. Open the app — the Morning Check-In widget appears on the home screen each morning.
  2. Tap the widget to open the check-in flow.
  3. Rate each of the four signals (HRV, sleep, soreness, stress) using the on-screen inputs.
  4. Submit — your readiness score is calculated and displayed immediately.
  5. The widget updates to reflect your score and marks the habit as complete for the day.

The full flow takes under 30 seconds.

Notes

  • Wearable integration is optional — the readiness score can be calculated from subjective inputs alone if no wearable is connected.
  • Check-in data is stored per-member and is visible to coaches within the member health and recovery dashboard.
  • Missed check-ins do not prevent training — the platform falls back to the most recent available data or defaults when calculating readiness.
